Flupyrimin

Flupyrimin is an active ingredient of insecticides created and developed by Mitsui Chemicals Crop & Life Solutions. It is effective against pests of paddy rice, such as rice water weevil, planthoppers, stink bugs and so on. It is also effective in preventing infection of rice stripe virus(RSV) by planthoppers. Since its launch in Japan in 2020 as agricultural insecticides under the name of LYDIA™ and EMYLIA™, Flupyrimin has become widespread as a main insecticide for paddy fields. Flupyrimin mixtures have also been developed, and they have been helping crop protection through its usage that provides efficiency and labor savings in agricultural applications.
In India, the license for commercialization in rice field has granted to UPL Limited, the leading company of agrochemicals field.
The products of Flupyrimin have been launched by UPL in 2022, and they have been used to control the major rice pests Stem Borer and Brown Plant Hopper, contributing to food production in India.
